This model was jointly developed by the Department of Endocrinology and Metabolism and the Department of General Practice, Provincial Affiliated Hospital of Fuzhou University. Aligned with practical clinical needs, the study adopted a hybrid approach combining model distillation and fine-tuning to conduct targeted training on a foundational large language model (LLM) that lacks prior knowledge in psychological counseling. By infusing the model with specialized knowledge in weight loss-related psychological counseling, we ultimately developed a lightweight AI virtual psychological counseling expert exclusively tailored for weight loss clinics, which is suitable for on-premises deployment within hospitals. This system assists attending physicians in delivering standardized and professional psychological counseling and guidance services to obese patients experiencing emotional issues such as anxiety and depression during the weight loss process.
